Bondi Band Review and Give Away!

Alright folks, it's officially here-
My Bondi Band Review and First Give Away!

Are you excited? You should be!

Firstly, let me tell you a bit about Bondi Band. Bondi Bands are sweat-wicking headbands, hats/caps, etc for athletic people of all shapes, sizes and ages. To quote them directly, "The simple premise of Bondi Bands is to offer comfy, colorful, and creative headbands to fit every lifestyle and personality. By using stretchy and breathable material, we allow Bondi Bands to fit virtually every head size comfortably and fashionably." I was originally intrigued by Bondi Bands after reading about them on various blogs. Every review I read was the same, Bondi Bands rocked! So, I decided it was time to try them for myself

I have very long hair and keeping it out of my face is always an issue, especially when running. So far I've been using bandanas, but they have to pinned to my head otherwise the wind will take them away and the pins tend to dig into my scalp while running. Also, while bandanas are stylish and cheap, they do not wick away my sweat and that's a big downfall. Trying to wipe the river of sweat out of my eyes is super attractive when running down the street.

When I got my tax refund, I purchased two Bondi Bands. One, the pink whirly HERE and the other, Keep Running HERE. The pink whirly one is made of Lycra material, which dries fas and lightly wicks sweat. It is light and breathes very nice, I wore it all around the house last night and it never once moved out of place. The Lycra bands come in dozens of fun colors and patterns. There is definitely something for everyone to wear!

The Keep Running Bondi Band is a heavier sweat-wicking headband that is "comprised of high-tech polyester," that draws the sweat away from the body, "pushing to the outside of the fabric, where it evaporates away... leaving you dry". The heavier bands come in multiple colors and with various sayings/logos/etc. (They even have some that you can customize with your own logo/saying!) This is the one I wore for my 4.3 mile run today.

Honestly, I forgot I was wearing it for most of the run. It was very light and it never moved out of place. Around mile three, when I wondered why I had yet to wipe sweat out of my eyes, I finally remembered I had it on my head. The Bondi Band was fantastic! During the entire run I did not have a drop of sweat run down my head, into my eyes, anything! (And believe me, I was a hot, sweaty mess after this run!) Not only did it keep the sweat from my face, it kept my hair out of the way as well. And I looked stylish the whole time I was running. PERFECT! What more could I ask for?!

So, have I convinced you that Bondi Bands are beyond amazing?!

Well, with the help of Rebecca at Bondi Bands, I'm going to give one lucky follower their very own Bondi Band. The winner will be chosen at random and will get to pick which Bondi Band head band they would like to own. The Mail's Here!

I got home from work tonight and opened the door to a pile of mail on the kitchen table. As I sorted through the pile looking for my letters/bills/etc, I came across a small package with my name on it. I tore it open to see

MY BONDI BANDS CAME IN!!!!
I immediately broke into a celebratory dance and did a photo shoot

This is my pink whirly one!

And this is my motivational Bodi Band- SASSY!!

I'm BEYOND excited and cannot wait to try them out on a run tomorrow. My run for yesterday and today was cancelled as my body decided it hates me (for multiple reasons- BOO!). Needless to say I spent most of last night alternating between an ice pack and a heating pad across my abdomen (I despise cramps) to help with the pain.

Today was much better than yesterday was though- pain wise anyway- so I'm hopeful that tomorrow I will be almost back to normal. I've already mapped out a new route in my head that I want to run. It's 4.3 miles and I'm excited to run it especially with my new shoes and new Bondi Bands. WOOT!!

Sorry it's a short post today- I will have a longer one after my run when I can review my Bondi Bands and give you details about my First Give Away!

I'm So Pretty!

So, thanks to my income tax refund, I was able to afford my new running shoes!
YAY!

I ordered them Sunday night and they arrived today. Zappos was super nice and upgraded my 3-5 business day shipping to Priority Overnight shipping for free! Holler! (I'm officially a Zappos fan). Anywho, my Saucony Progrid Kinvaras came in and they are BRIGHT pink! I think I'm in love!

Aren't they Sassy?!
As soon as I got home from work and saw the box on the table, I tore it open and put my shoes on. They fit wonderfully! I wasn't originally intending on running today as the rain has been brutal, but by the time I got my shoes on, the rain had slowed down enough that I had time to do a quick 2+ mile run. The shoes feel much different than my last pair. They are a somewhat minimalist shoe (not as intense as the five finger shoes though) with a mesh ventilation on the top and sides of the foot, and is a neutral for those of us who under-pronate. I paid close attention to my feet as I was running and I noticed that there wasn't as much pressure on the outside of my feet as there used to be. Whether that's because of the fact that the shoes were specifically designed for supinators or whether it's because they are minimalist and my feet are just naturally hitting differently, I have yet to figure out. But, all the same, my pinky toes were grateful to not have to be the main pressure points for my push-offs anymore. I will do a full review after I've worn them for a few longer runs, etc
In my spending spree, I also ordered two Bondi Bands to try out. I saw on Facebook that they had a Whirly colored band on sale for almost half off, and I've been wanting to try one, so I figured what the heck? These are the two I got: Pink Whirly - Bondi Band and Keep Running (pink ink) - Bondi Band
They are both pretty and I figure the Keep Running one might help to keep me motivated while training. I mean, how awkward would it be to wear that and be walking on the side of the road? Bwah Bwah.  My Bondi Bands shipped today so I'm hoping to get them in by the ed of the week. More photos to come!
During my run tonight I had another upset stomach. Any ideas as to what can help that? It's starting to get annoying, especially because I was going at a good pace and my legs felt good. I had to stop because my tummy was cramping so badly though. Darn stomach!

Questions of The Day:
1. What are your favorite pair of running shoes? Why?

2. What are your feelings on minimalist shoes?

3. What do you do to help get rid of an upset stomach?
